Method

IN-PERSON SESSIONS:

Face-to-face sessions lend themselves to a more direct connection. The client and therapist have better access to nonverbal cues, unspoken feelings and the use of specific interventions. In-office sessions are in a controlled environment, so distractions are less likely to take place. In-person sessions are also great practice for interacting with others and socializing.

TELEHEALTH SESSIONS:

Sometimes there are barriers to participating in therapy even when someone is motivated. For example, time constraints, caretaking responsibilities, distance or financial considerations. When logistics become a problem, therapy can still be an option!

With Telehealth sessions, location is not an obstacle and you can connect from anywhere in Texas. Telehealth is also cost/time effective since there is no money or time spent driving. Privacy and confidentiality are also afforded by Telehealth sessions, as sessions can take place in your own private environment and HIPAA-compliant applications are used for connecting to sessions.

About Noé A. Ríos, LPC

Background

I am a licensed therapist in Texas (lic. # 81085) with a passion for helping others overcome challenges and live fulfilling lives. I hold a Master's Degree in Rehabilitation Counseling from the University of Texas Rio Grande Valley, specializing in mental health counseling. With 10 years of experience in the field, I've acquired invaluable skills and knowledge in settings that include outpatient substance abuse and mental health clinics, behavioral hospitals and the local mental health authority TTBH.

Philosophy & Approach

You might face circumstances you did not choose, but there is one thing that cannot be taken from you - The ability to choose your attitude in any given situation. The way we think helps create the path to how we can feel and what we can do. I strive to make a genuine connection, and while our sessions can take a traditional form with approaches like CBT, I am open to incorporating faith if you feel it would be helpful. My faith is at the core of who I am and it is, in part, my Catholic Christian values which led me to the mental health field.

I offer individual therapy for adults across Texas in the following areas of focus:

  • Anxiety

  • Social Anxiety
